Play on your TV from your phone or tablet
Silo is in active development before 1.0. These guides are updated frequently.
With Remote Control, your phone or tablet picks what plays in the Silo app on a nearby Apple TV or Android TV. The TV streams from the server, and your phone or tablet sends the commands. Both devices need to be on the same home network, with Silo open on the TV. If the TV isn’t signed in yet, set it up first.
Connect and play
Section titled “Connect and play”- Tap Remote Control (the remote icon) at the top of the Home screen or a title’s page.
- Choose the TV from the list.
- Open a movie or episode and tap Play. It plays on the TV instead of your phone or tablet.
On iPhone and iPad, tapping Remote Control on a movie or episode page starts that title on the TV you choose.
While you’re connected, tapping the remote icon opens a menu: Remote Control shows the remote, Choose TV switches to another TV, and Turn Off Control Mode goes back to playing on your phone or tablet.
Use the remote
Section titled “Use the remote”The remote has play and pause, skip back and forward, and volume, plus Audio, Subtitles, Quality, and Speed when the TV’s player offers them.
Tap More options (…) on the remote to Choose a Different TV. Stop Playback stops the title on the TV, and Disconnect ends the connection.
If your TV isn’t in the list
Section titled “If your TV isn’t in the list”Open Silo on the TV so it’s on screen, and make sure your phone or tablet and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network. A guest network can keep them from finding each other. If the connection drops, tap Remote Control again once the network is back.
