Request a movie or series
Silo is in active development before 1.0. These guides are updated frequently.
If a movie or series isn’t on the server, you can ask for it with a request. Requests appears only when the server has requests turned on and your account is allowed to use them. The person who runs the server sets this up in Manage requests.
Make a request
Section titled “Make a request”- Open Requests. In the web app it’s in the sidebar. In the mobile and TV apps, open your profile menu and choose Requests.
- Search for the title. Open the result with the right year and type.
- Select Request movie or Request series (Request Movie or Request Series in the Apple apps, Request in the Android apps).
- Follow its progress under Yours in the web app or My Requests in the apps.
If a title is already requested or in the library, its page shows that instead of the request button. If you can’t request it, the page says why, for example Request limit reached.
Request statuses
Section titled “Request statuses”In the web app and the Android apps, a request moves through Pending (waiting for approval), Approved, Queued, Downloading, and Completed (in the library and ready to watch). A request that ends early shows Declined, Cancelled, or Failed.
The Apple apps group these into five labels:
| Apple label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Waiting for approval. You can cancel it from My Requests with Cancel Request. |
| On the way | Approved, queued, or downloading. |
| In library | Ready to watch. |
| Needs attention | Declined or failed, with the reason when there is one. |
| Unavailable | Can’t be requested right now, or the request was cancelled. |
When a request is complete, the title shows up in the library. You can also get an alert when it arrives through your notification preferences.
